…comes from the French and means to take away. (That’s why we use the term “deduction” for tax purposes.) The idea in philosophy is to take away error so that you are left with only truth. In a similar manner, science tries to disprove theories and when they cannot, they accept it as a fact.
Hey Joe,
I think you speak of bad science/scientists. True science verifies facts without prejudice or agenda.
Steve, I think every scientist speaks from his/her WAL viewpoint which makes no one truly objective. Do you think a chiropractic researcher who rejects the concept of innate intelligence can draw the same conclusions as one who accepts the existence of the body’s innate intelligence. Can a mechanist arrive at the same conclusions as a vitalist or will his “facts” be skewed? Where does Al Gore’s true science line up with consensus? Was the “earth is flat” ever true science or was it true science only until 1492?
Hey Joe,
I get your point, ok, scientists are skewed, science should be objective.
Flat earth was never true or science, never proven or verified scientifically. I would guess it was only authoritarian hand me downs. Some say there are biblical references to such.
PS, I don’t consider a Chiropractic researcher who rejects the concept of Innate Intelligence a Chiropractor or objective.
