Spinal exercises for patients is not straight chiropractic.  If chiropractic includes exercise to strengthen the spine then it should also include nutrition to nourish spinal muscles.  It should also include stress management, positive mental attitude principles, spiritual counseling, ergonomics and just about everything else for everything affects everything.  In which case it is “everything” not chiropractic.

The difference between the objective straight chiropractor and the traditional straight with regard to unusual findings is that the traditional straight says the unusual finding is indicative of a medical problem that either does or does not need medical attention.  In other words, he makes a medical decision about a medical condition.  His “subluxation-is-the-cause-of-all-disease” motto may cloud his objectivity and keep him from referring when he should.  The objective straight chiropractor maintains that he does not know whether the unusual finding is indicative of a medical problem or not and even if it is, he does not know whether the medical problem needs medical treatment or not.  Consequently, he does not refer a patient out to a medical doctor for care but explains to the patient what he has found in laymen’s terms and what the patient’s options are.
