It is my opinion that 95% of vertebral subluxations are probably corrected by the innate intelligence of the body without aid of a chiropractor. Otherwise as a negative survival value, the human race would have died off long before DD in 1895. I think it’s pretty arrogant of us to think that the percentage is any lower. I also believe that 95% of the remaining 5% can probably be corrected by sloppy technique only because the fantastic innate intelligence of the body can do so much (correct a vertebral subluxation) with so little (a poor adjustive thrust.) Good technique is necessary to correct the remaining one-fourth of one percent, the better the technique, the greater the percentage of remaining vertebral subluxations will be corrected. Just my opinion. What’s yours?
I agree, that’s why I’ve spent 43 years “pushing on bumps”. Most Chiros take themselves much too seriously.
Now we’re talking. Viva les “bumps” ! ! !
I think that worked for most of history. Do you think the percentage has dropped some due to the massive subluxation inducing stress load that we face each day in the physical, chemical (including environmental), and emotional dimensions that didn’t exist in the past?
Interesting thought John. Here is another thought that follows : VS occurs due to Lof Matter. (EIF overcoming IRF). Since ii is perfect, the problem lies in the ability of the body to express those forces (thru the matter). That means that man is not evolving as science maintains but is actually devolving. (I didn’t make up that term Steve:). If that is the case, we better be about our business of correcting vs in as many people as we can as often as we can.
Hey Joe, I believe BJ said 80 to 85 % self correction, The remaining 15 to 20% had been out so long or were created so violently they needed the help of the chiropractor. I wondered then as now, how do you come up with that figure. If we only had a spinal monitor, we could count and clock subluxations. Then we could know a lot more about self correction
Steve,
It’s based on deep reflection of the 33 principles and derived at from deductive reasoning. It’s points to an understanding of Lof Matter within context of the “thought-flashes” BJ and Joe received. That’s why BJ said 80 to 85% self correction 75 years ago and today Joe says 95% leaving 1/4 of a percent to the better technique. And that’s what we’ve got to go on until the USMVS is invented, taught at seminars and marketed at a high price to chiropractors. 🙂
If you wonder, USMVS stands for “Universal Spinal Monitor of Vertebral Subluxations” and yes, I made it up! 🙂
I guess it all depends on criteria. The NCM, in my opinion, is the most scientific and objective way to monitor one’s neuro-physiology. That being said, I think we’re gonna find that many more of the people coming to us are still subluxated after we did our job.
Great thread and nice food for thought!
