Isn’t it interesting how science is able to cut off debate. Al Gore says in An Inconvenient Truth that as far as science is concerned, the debate is over with regard to global warming and I guess it is, despite the fact that many good scientists reject or question global warming. When one side ends the debate, the debate is over. It takes two sides to have a debate. In a similar manner, concepts like intelligent design are not allowed to be debated in scientific circles or academia because evolution has been deemed the only science. In our profession, universal and innate intelligence are considered non-scientific out-of-hand and legitimate debate about whether they are scientific, or more important, whether they are truths, is cut off.v22n4
