The Gift of Vision

Of all the things Reggie Gold gave us, in my opinion, vision was the greatest gift. It was more than just sharing his vision. It was sharing the vision that each one of us could have our own vision of chiropractic and through that give greater vision to the profession. By continually sharing with us a greater and greater vision he was conveying to us the idea that we could continue to expand our vision, even beyon his. He did this by continually broadening his vision for chiropractic, first beyond what BJ gave him and second by what he himself developed. Just as BJ had expanded his vision, Reggie expanded his. Whether BJ ever conceived of a non-therpeutic objective for chiropractic we cannot tell but he definitely kept on stretching his vision until his death. Reggie did the same thing. Here is a tribute to Reggie Gold in a 1-hour audio given on September 22, 2012.

  1. The first time I heard Reggie speak was ’82 off campus at Life. He spoke about the levels of chiropractic consciousness. Little did I know at the time was that this talk was derived from his journey and thought progression in chiropractic, all of which began with what he received from BJ. I believe BJ was well on his way to where we are today, just re-read “The Big Idea” or a “An After thought” as it’s also called. Very interesting to see how so many stayed at the level they were introduced to, while he (Reggie) contiunued to push forward and refine his thought process and ultimately end up at spinology. It’s visionaries like Joe Strauss who then took that gift that Reggie gave us and continue to push forward, refining it more and more each step of the way to today’s NTOSC.. Thank you Reggie, thank you Joe!. Great talk Joe, it was an honor to be there when you presented it!

  2. Thanks Tom and Joe for the recording. If either of you find that practice changing tape Dr. Strauss mentions in this recording I would love to hear it! Thanks again.
