I've said it before but it bears repeating…no.2

  1. I wish it was that “cut & dry”. But dealing with REAL people & REAL life – some people may “get it” & still decide they don’t want it & some things just take more precedence in people’s lives, that they choose over having their spines’ checked. A friend of mine is having serious health issues & knows how important eating more healthy foods is at this time, but has chosen not to do so. On the other end of the scale, one of the practice members who is a retired college professor continues to have his spine checked regularly and is very actively involved in asking good questions & is very attentive BUT continues to associate how his BACK feels with the adjustment. (and he is not what you call – MENTALLY CHALLENGED). IMO a person’s free will trumps learning any day.

    • Straight DC, as a BOTW practitioner, I dealt with that problem for 45+ years. It got to the point where each time they came in after being delinquent, I would give them a mini lecture until they got the message or got sick of hearing me and did not come back. The only problem is that usually the chiropractor gets sick of repeating the message before the PM does. An alternative is to make them listen to a tape or watch a video. When they would say “Oh I saw that video before”, I would respond “I’m sorry, here’s a different one” and pop in another video.
