Thoughts

As a profession, we do not want medical doctors adjusting vertebral subluxations but we want to treat disease. Why is it medicine can be so adamant that a displaced (herniated) disc can impinge upon the cord and spinal nerves and cause all kinds of problems affecting the function of the nerve system? They are so confident … Read more

Diagnosis and Chiropractic

Recently I had an opportunity to talk to a group of about 100 students at a chiropractic college, one that is not known for being straight, either traditional or objective. The problem is not that our profession is unable to agree on a definition of chiropractic. The problem is that we have failed to define the practice of medicine or to accept how medicine defines itself. Most chiropractors define medicine as “anything I choose not to do.”

Chiropractic as a Cure-All

In Volume III, No. 3 we published an article concerning the difficulty that the straights have in communicating their philosophy to the mixer element in the profession. We somewhat humorously (at least to us) implied that this inability was because mixers do not understand the English language, have a hearing disorder or are brain damaged. … Read more

Wish I'd Said That

“The principles of philosophy cannot be put in words like other studies. Acquaintance with them must come after a long period of instruction and close companionship, then suddenly like a blaze kindled by a leaping spark, knowledge is generated in the soul and sustains itself there.” Plato Dec.3, 2010 December 2010
