TSC seems to present itself as an alternative to medical/therapeutic care but somehow after it succeeds (if it does) the P.M is expected understand/realize that they need regular chiropractic care for the remainder of their life. OSC just starts out explaining that concept before accepting them for care. It appears most chiropractors never understand that concept. That is why they have a revolving door practice.
After many years of practice as a straight chiopractor with all of the informational bells and whistles in place, I have come to the conclusion that hardly anyone gets our message. Ehat’s more, they don’t really care.
We staged a survey amongst my large long term patient base asking them what I do, what is chiropractic, what was an adjustment…The results were very discourqging on an efficacy level, but so hilarious that we actually had them bound in a comic book form. We still teach TIC, but not with any expectations
Does that mean we should abandon our message and adopt error or should we continue to teach our (objective) chiropractic and be satisfied with those (however few ) who get it, meanwhile expanding our base by developing new methods of communicating our message. Perhaps all the bells and whistles are drowning out the clarity of the message and has caused TSC to have failed since the true message was dropped by ignoring the objective.
Has anyone tried to administer quizzes like Dr. Strauss elaborates in one of his books? I already do a introductory orientation online with a quiz they have to fill out to start care. To “soften” the “schooling” thought of tying followup quizzes to some sort of incentive (i.e. a credit to their membership balance, etc). Any thoughts?
More success with that idea would have occurred with inculcation by repetition. I am reminded of the HS basketball coach who purchased John Wooden’s book (UCLA) Hall of Fame coach (as a player AND a coach and was disappointed to find it was just teaching the “basics”. But he found that it worked! We need to get back to the basic’s of chiropractic. Instead most are trying adopt the system that has failed for over 1000 years. We have already adopted acupuncture. What’s next for chiropractic , blood letting?
